F.A.Q.
What is this book?
It’s broken into two parts. Part One contains a recap of Miles Morales’ publication history. It includes statements from his key creators, a look at the context surrounding his creation, and an examination of his growth and development within the Marvel Universe.
Part Two is my entire reason for writing this book. It’s a commentary on the key themes of Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. What are those key themes? Why were they chosen? What is canon? How does it relate to the comics? And what is the film saying about the more than sixty-year history of Spider-Man?
Who wrote the book?
Heyah there! My name is Nacho Teso. You can check out my bio above. In short, I’m a diabetic who loves comics in general and Spider-Man in particular. In 2023, I self-published the original Spanish version, Miles Morales: Cruzando el mito arácnido. It was my first book, and I’m still very proud of it.
So much so that I decided to try and publish it in English as well. The book is distributed through Amazon’s print-on-demand service, Kindle Direct Publishing. Libraries can order copies via the Expanded Distribution. I’m also willing to release the book via other print-on-demand services.

The Spectacular Beatriz Galiano. It was a pleasure to work with her, both on the original release and the English edition.

My Amazing Friend Mònica Rex. She is one of Spain’s leading voices in comics and manga. She can be heard on the Tramas Resueltas podcast and is a member of ACDCómic.

The Friendly Neighborhood Olivia C. Caputo. She is a Spanish-to-English translator and subtitler. Working with Olivia was efficient, a learning experience, and really, really fun.
Who wrote the afterword?
The Sensational Malcolm Joshua Russell‑Nelson. He’s been podcasting for more than a decade on shows like Culture Popped Podcast and On The Subject. But I knew of him from Aeric Azana’s Geeksplained Podcast, where he is one of The Book Club Bois.
